Bill Pickett
This is an original, signed, limited edition lithographic print by Gaylene Worthington
of Bill Pickett - an African-American cowboy and the inventor of the rodeo sport of
"bull dogging". Zack Miller, owner of the 101 Ranch described Bill Pickett
as, "The greatest sweat and dirt cowhand that ever lived - bar none." At one time,
Pickett's assistants included Will Rogers and Tom Mix. In 1932, at the age of
seventy-one, he was kicked by a horse and died on his 160 acre ranch in Oklahoma.
The print measures 11.5" by 13.5", the image itself 7.5" by 10.25".
